I took some time in Winter of 2012 to write a little JS library called timeshifter. This codebase allows me to segment and reference times in ways useful for slicing up this data. This experiment is the first ever manifestation of this code and a hastily improvised UI to control it.
At the heart of timeshifter is the concept of a tick. By segmenting time into a hierarchy of larger-to-smaller ticks, I am able to navigate in, out, and across time with relative ease. This particular experiment goes from Month - Week - Day, allowing quick traversal of these intervals. By keeping the visualization centered over these ticks, it is very easy to track down and focus on outlier readings. Try finding some highs or lows, and using the navigation at the bottom, click further in to find the week and day in which they occurred.
